I performed my escort duties, going around to Zoe's and walking with her and Ellie to school. There was a marked chill in the air compared with the last few days. At least it was dry.
Back home, fed and caffeinated I retrieved the last boxes from the garage and started removing the Christmas decorations. This started with the outside lights which were carefully spooled onto wiring frames and prepared for storage. The Christmas tree was stripped of all its baubles and then the lights were spooled for storage. The tree was dismantled and the three parts were wrestled into the relevant storage box or polythene bags. A pile of nearly dead batteries had formed and were put to one side for recycling. Meanwhile, Diane was working through all of the baubles and ornaments and stowing them in their boxes.
This had taken several hours. The house was straight, but the Orangery was filled with boxes of decorations. They will have to wait until tomorrow when Di has finished sorting through before I stow them in the garage.
Had a quiet hour with my Kindle before walking to school to collect Ellie. Di would have come, but Denise had phoned and they were still in full swing! Ellie came home and got on with some Maths until Pete came to collect her for the weekend.
