Saturday morning started with the usual call with the cousins. A nicer and crazier bunch of people than you would be hard-pressed to find outside of an asylum. We had our usual 40 minutes of madness before wishing each other a Merry Christmas and switching off.
I had various chores lined up in my mental checklist. The first was to get the floors washed throughout the downstairs. With that done, it was time to bring the table in from the garage so that we could start to lay out the Orangery in preparation for the festivities. Next on the agenda was to assemble one of the presents we had got for Ellie. This was fiddly and must have taken well over an hour, but better it is done now that she is demanding it on Christmas Day. With that assembled, we spent a further hour wrapping her final presents and then managed to get a quiet hour before dinner.
