Ellie was dropped off soon after 07:00. She was a bundle of joy this morning, having slept well last night. After the Elf had been found and breakfast finished she took herself up to her bedroom and played quietly until it was time for school.
Once back from the school run, we had a quiet 30 minutes before heading out into the wide blue yonder. Diane had an appointment with some Pilates and I had a football match. The football was a 5-v-6 / 6-v-5 game with one player swapping sides at halftime. I started on the team with 5 and had to play as an attacking midfielder - not a position I normally occupy. As it happens the other team scored first but we responded within minutes with a well-worked goal from Mark. Then I scored, and by halftime, the score was 3-1. In the second half, we had the extra man. Our teamwork continued to dominate the pitch. We scored 4 more goals without a reply. One of those goals was mine. It was a good game and we all had fun.
I collected Diane and we headed home for some lunch and a quiet hour for recuperation. Diane went to surgery during the afternoon to get her shingles jab. I caught up on some admin while she was gone.
We didn't have to worry about collecting Ellie today. She was going home with her friend, Maddie. We'll see her first thing in the morning though.
