The cough that I have been fighting for the past week became particularly troublesome during the night. Worried that I would wake Diane, I decided the best thing to do would be to get up. So it was that at 05:00 on Boxing Day I was reading the news and enjoying my first coffee of the day.
The morning was suitably quiet. We finished the clearing up from yesterday, and I nipped to Sainsbury's to pick up some carrots and potatoes for tomorrow.
That was about it! We spent the afternoon in front of a film on the TV. A very lazy day.
