Out out

The moon clocked off from the overnight shift as the sun started the day shift. I was up and about soon after. After the jump-starter coffee, I read the news before wandering around to Zoe's for the walk to school. Back home I settled down for some breakfast as Diane got ready to go and meet her friend, Angie, for a coffee and chat at Haskins.

I donned my sunglasses, stuck my AirPods in my ears and headed out for a walk.  My audiobook has got me completely hooked and if it wasn't for bladder pressure, I would have walked for hours.

Di returned soon after 13:00 and we had a quiet hour of general chat before we had to capture Jasper for his next appointment with the vet. Di took care of the trip with Jasper and I headed out for another walk before collecting Ellie from school. She was full of energy and wanted to stop at the park on the way home. It seemed like a good idea, so we made our way to the play area where, over the next 10 minutes, she seemed to be joined by most of her class.

As the children started to get a bit boisterous, I called Ellie and we headed home. We arrived just a few minutes before Di and Jasper got back.

Ellie had asked for "Grandpa's curry" and yellow rice for dinner. It seemed like the perfect end to the week (for her). I dug out my recipe from last year and made the sauce. Zoe had commented that Ellie had enjoyed Butter Chicken recently so I adjusted the recipe to incorporate butter in the final stage of preparation. The results were excellent and Ellie ate a huge helping.

As Zoe doesn't finish until 22:00 tonight, Ellie is staying with us.
