Ellie was dropped off soon after 7 am. The decision had been made that she would not be going to school until Zoe had taken her to the doctor. She has been complaining about a rash, a sore throat, and earache overnight. We gave her breakfast and got her washed and dressed, then waited for Zoe to make contact.
Zoe, unexpectedly, arrived on the doorstep. Her manager had sent her home to look after Ellie. We waved them goodbye and waited to hear how things went at the surgery.
After the comings and goings of the last few days with the plumber, I fired up the steam cleaner and gave the hard floors a good clean. It was time for us to head for the Optician when that was done. We both had our 2-year check-up scheduled. We both got a clean bill of health (though both of us have incipient cataracts which will require monitoring). We both had changes in our prescriptions; in my case, the prescription is going down. We had a great laugh with the staff as we selected new spectacles and sunglasses. The new glasses should be ready in a couple of weeks.
We heard from Zoe and Ellie is ok but needs some moisturising.
We had a quiet afternoon with our books.
