Other side of the tracks

Another quiet day, weather-wise. It was bright and chilly, but not too bad. Ellie was up very early today and now, come the evening, she is in a stroppy mood and is going to bed early.

The Gorse Fox went with Urban-Cub to take Ellie to Dizzy Ducklings then settled down with his second coffee of the day to read the paper. After that there were odd bits of admin to clear before he headed out for a walk. It was another zig-zag route round various local streets (avoiding the main roads). Again, he was listening to Simon Evans. In doing so, he learned that he had gone to school in St Albans. So did the Gorse Fox. On checking, however, he went to the school on the opposite side of the valley, which was the other side of the tracks - or would have been if Dr. Beeching hadn't closed that railway line. Never mind, this won't be held against young Evans (after all, he is 13 years younger than the Gorse Fox).
