Even though the Gorse Fox uses Facebook, he despises the platform and the ethics of the company. It is, however, the only game in town when it comes to keeping up with friends and colleagues around the world. He also uses WhatsApp. WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, but until now has been fairly well separated from it. They have announced new Terms and Conditions which allow them to share your information with Facebook. Now, the Gorse Fox is not happy about this. One item that could be shared is his contacts list, another is the makeup of his various chat groups. This is more information than Facebook should have.
The Gorse Fox has decided to extract himself from WhatsApp. Today he has been messaging his contacts to explain that he is dropping off the platform and will be using "Signal" as an alternative. It is interesting how many of his contacts were considering similar moves, judging by the responses he's getting from round the world. WhatsApp may have shot themselves in the foot.
