There is something deeply calming about having patience. For the Gorse Fox, patience is a virtue that goes only so far. It then switches in a nano-second to fury. Today, that nano-second is approaching.
He got up earl to edit our scheduled Ocado order. Ocado would not allow him onto the site, saying there were now delivery slots available. This should not be a problem as he had a slot and was merely wishing to edit the shopping list. This carried on for a couple of hours before he decided to leave it and recast the list onto his phone for a trip to Sainsbury's.
He then returned to the outstanding task of cancelling the trip to Jamaica. They allowed him to WhatsApp and SMS - which he did to no effect. Eventually, he found a working phone number. He dialled in and was told he may have to wait up to three hours. He is patient. He could wait. He entered the booking reference and waited. The music started. He got on with some emails. He read Facebook. He returned to the task of selecting photos for a future photo book. He went and prepared some vegetables for the soup at lunchtime. He watched over Ellie while Urban-cub was on a conference call. He noticed that the Silver Vixen had got into Ocado and helped by reading out the shopping list to her. He walked around the house. He read the papers online.
After four hours and ten minutes the music stopped, there was a click, "Hello, hello" he called. The line went dead. They had cut him off. That nano-second was coming close. He picked up another phone and called the number again. He got the message "The number is busy, please try again later". That nano-second is getting very, very close!
