Cancelled

Well, being Tuesday, and with a modicum of normality returning to the Gorse Fox's joints, he decided to play football again. He should explain that Tuesday's sessions have changed. There used to be two back-to-back sessions for an hour each. Now, they have changed the format. The first session is the standard session, as before. After that comes a session known as "conditioning" and seems a bit loosely defined. Finally, there is a third session called Vets Football which is full-blown blood and guts football and has players of all ages (and not just Vets).

The Gorse Fox played in the first session and we won two out of three games, with two goals from the Gorse Fox. After that, he decided to stay on for the "conditioning" session. Well, "conditioning" this week was basically full-blown football. No pretence of "walking", no worries about physical contact. It was like the good old days. We had a single game, 30 minutes each way. At the end, the Gorse Fox was suitably tired, but content with some good football.

He received an email. The old boys' reunion (50 years) at his old school has been cancelled - or at least, postponed due to Covid-19. He was due to go up to St Albans for the event. Now he has a hotel room but no event. He has suggested to the Silver Vixen that we go and have a quiet evening away and find a nice restaurant in St Albans for dinner.

Talking of cancellations, Betty and Barney Rubble have decided, after all, not to join the cruise next year. It will just be us and J&T.
