It's all in the timing

The Gorse Fox spent some time first thing today trying to master the intricacies of the gimbal for the iPhone. Unfortunately his timing wasn't quite up to scratch and he managed to launch the iPhone across the kitchen table. This collided with a full cup of tea and the resulting mayhem blessed the Silver Vixen with an unexpected head-to-foot shower. Fortunately, the tea had cooled. As she went off to change, the Gorse Fox set about drying the floor, the table, the chairs and everything else that had been affected.

Not a good start.

While Urban-Cub and Ellie were getting going the Gorse Fox returned to his study and completed the compilation of the photo book. A further check late in the afternoon saw some final amendments and the book was dispatched for printing. The discount voucher knocked 19 pound off the price, so it was worth completing on time.

At lunchtime, a trip to Sainsbury's was necessary. There were a few items that were needed for Ellie's birthday tomorrow... cards, and a cake being the most significant. (Urban-Cub had ordered a cake from a local baker, but she had gone into isolation and only contacted Urban-Cub yesterday to say she wasn't going to bake it - Urban-Cub was suitable impressed).

Sainsbury's was managing a queuing system. This kept shoppers 2 metres apart in the queue, and operated a one in, one out, policy for access to the store.

The Gorse Fox joined the end of the queue. This was round the side of the store. It moved at a steady pace and he was inside after about 20 minutes. His timing was impeccable by this time of day. When he left, the queue stretched all the way up round the car park and he suspects that was taking a good 45 minutes, at least, to complete.
