The Gorse Fox and the Silver Vixen have been regular customers of Ocado for many years. We have a standard delivery slot pre-allocated every week. On Monday/Tuesday we tend to log into the system and amend our standard shopping list to fine-tune it for the current week. Yesterday, the Silver Vixen logged in as usual. Well, not quite "as usual".
Instead of the usual screen, we go a "splash screen" saying that unless you already had an order, forget it, We did, so we didn't. It also said that they are not accepting any new customers at present. Not a problem, we are established customers. Finally, it said we were positioned 15,994 in the queue and it would be about 2 hours wait before we got in to edit our order.
It was interesting watching the queue position count down as it was updated every 15 seconds. In the end, it took about an hour to get to the front of the queue, at which time there were some 17,900 people queued up behind us.
We did our normal shop.
