Today there was some respite from the heat, at least there was here on the coast. Temperatures were in the mid 20s and there was some cloud cover.
Ellie was dropped off at 7:15 and we snapped into our usual drill. Once Ellie was delivered to school, we did the car dance and the Gorse Fox headed off to Worthing for football. The Silver Vixen had a morning planned, with a girl friend, at Haskins.
We had a good turnout, managing 4 teams of 7. The Gorse Fox, on Blue-1, appreciated the lads on the team but looking at our opponents decided we were probably in for a torrid hour. That's not how it worked out. Blue-1 moved well and passed well and threatened the goal time and again. The Gorse Fox and Mo', at the back, held firm and defused every attack. We managed to win 2-0. The next game was destined to be the hardest. Green-2 had an ex-professional up front with some younger attackers. Again, we managed to defuse and block everything that came our way. Slowly, our passing started to make the difference and we ended up 3-0 winners. The final game was another hard one, but again we prevailed, with a 2-1 win. All due respects to our goalie who was superb throughout the morning. It was a really enjoyable morning.
Back home the Gorse Fox grabbed some lunch and then did some reading until the Silver Vixen got back. He then started to examine how he could efficiently preload the contacts directory on the household digital phone. He's almost cracked it, in that he can bulk load data, but so far is struggling with the correct incantation to register people with home and mobile phones. It is only showing the home phone. A little exercise for tomorrow.
