Fridge

It was meant to be another gentle start to the day. The problem was that the Gorse Fox woke during the night and realised that the Silver Vixen's car would need fuel before she set off for Pilates. He was determined to do this before anything else when he got up. He made the usual morning tea for the Silver Vixen then disappeared to fill the car. Once done, he could relax over breakfast.

The Silver Vixen headed off to Pilates and the Gorse Fox soon followed to play football. As usual, Krakatoa Jack had chosen some lopsided teams. As usual, the Gorse Fox was on the team that would be under continuous attack. Having said that, the Gorse Fox opened the scoring with an absolute pile-driver from the left wing. Unfortunately, though defending stoutly, we conceded and by the break we were 2-1 down. We swapped a couple of our players round in the second half but it made no significant difference. The final score was 4-2. It was all played in a good sporting spirit and was very enjoyable. The youngsters who were in the stands, waiting to use the pitch, were gob-smacked when we explained the rules that we play to and the fact that all but one of us are over 70.

Once home the Gorse Fox had a chat with Two Hats. They now have a new Mazda CX-30 which looks very nice. The Gorse Fox suspects it would be a little small for us, but it does look very smart.

The early afternoon was spent reading then the Gorse Fox drove down to Selsey. He was there to help the Coventry Hobbit. He and Cousteau-Cub had bought a large American-style fridge from a building site. While it needed some cleaning, it seemed to be in good working order. The Gorse Fox was there to help the Coventry Hobbit shift it and load it into the van that he had borrowed. Then he followed the van home and helped the Coventry Hobbit unload it and store it in their garage until it could be cleaned.
