Swan Upping

A lazy lie-in was only interrupted by Jasper. He was beginning to get a bit impatient and decided to let us know. The Gorse Fox wandered down to let him out and make a coffee.

The usual cousins' call was well attended today. Maggie had just had a short break in Portsmouth so there was a lot of Naval banter and reminiscing among them. After the call the morning was quiet while the Silver Vixen go ready and the Gorse Fox read his book. We were meeting up for lunch with Jane & Trevor.

We headed up to Chiddingfold - our usual meeting spot. This time, instead of the usual lunch at the The Crown, we decided to return to The Swan. We had been there before but were not impressed the last time. Rgar was a number of years ago and it is now under new management. The menu, while not extensive, provided good coverage for most palates. The serving staff seemed a little vague, but the food was good. The Silver Vixen had plaice, Jane had fish and chips, and Trevor and the Gorse Fox had cod loin. It was all delicious and as we hadn't indulged in a started it left room for a sweet. It is certainly worthy of a return visit.

We managed to catch up on all the local news about the families and hear about possible holiday plans for Spring 2023 (a river cruise on the Duoro). As usual, the time flew by and we had to finally pay the bill and leave.
