Urban-Cub dropped Elie off much later than usual. With Ellie about to spend the next fortnight with Pistol Pete, she was keen to get the most out of the last few hours. Ellie bounced into the house. She was completely hyper. All she should talk about was going to the circus and going camping with Daddy. It was great that she she was so enthusiastic, and we just had to keep her going until Pistol Pete collected her at lunchtime.
The Gorse Fox managed to keep her happy with some drawing and some colouring. More to the point he got her to write a journal entry and explained that this is something she should build up as she get older. (The Gorse Fox didn't offer to create a blog or digital journal for her.... but that is the logical conclusion).During the morning we continued to do some colouring, some reading, and do some puzzles. She did very well and is particularly adept at spotting the differences between two similar pictures.
Pistol Pete arrived at lunchtime. Ellie couldn't set off quickly enough. We got her bags loaded into the car along with a Red Cross parcel of food that only she would eat. With a wave, she was gone.
The Gorse Fox and the Silver Vixen had a quiet afternoon. The Gorse Fox waded half way through his latest book "The Monument Murders" while the Silver Vixen spent the afternoon sorting through her her sewing room.
