After some overnight power cuts and thunderstorms, the morning dawned fresher and slightly overcast. The temperature was still hovering around 19C but was several degrees down on the last few days. The Gorse Fox had no football scheduled. In fact, the Arena was closed today so we could not have played even if we wanted.
We had a very quiet morning - mainly reading and drinking coffee. At lunchtime we were scheduled to meet up with Cousteau-Cub and the Coventry Hobbit, Urban-Cub and Ellie, and Darren to have a celebratory "Fathers' Day" lunch at The Giggling Squid. As we arrived we noticed some young girls in their finery having clearly just made the First Communion. Ellie and Urban-Cub began chatting with one at the restaurant and she made her way round to see us and give Ellie some cake. It was a lovely gesture.
It goes without saying that the Gorse Fox was thoroughly spoiled. He had some lovely cards and various bits and (liquid) pieces to enjoy. He is so lucky to have such a wonderful family. The food was gorgeous, as usual and the Gorse Fox had his favourite spiced up chicken "Gra Pao". The Silver Vixen had a red curry which she enjoyed - in fact everyone seemed to enjoy lunch - perhaps with the exception of Ellie who limited herself to plan rice.
We sat and chatted until it was time for us all to go our separate ways. Cousteau-Cub and the Coventry Hobbit started their walk home, Urban-Cub, Ellie, and Darren headed for their car, and the Silver Vixen and Gorse Fox went to our car. Five minutes later we were home and settled.
