It was a wet start to the day. The Gorse Fox was hoping that things would dry up by the time he went to football... but no such luck.
Ellie had been at home overnight, so the Gorse Fox wandered round to take her off to school. Back at home the Gorse Fox changed and the Silver Vixen prepared for her morning out. She was going to meet a friend for coffee.
Football was incredibly wet. The rain was not heavy, but it was a penetrating and incessant drizzle. There were only 2 teams this week and we played 8-v-7. The Gorse Fox was on the team with 7 and had his work cut out for him. We survived the first two games 0-0, but conceded a single goal in the final game.
As Urban-Cub had the day off, she would be collecting Ellie from school. This meant that we had a clear afternoon. We had planned to make the most of this and booked to go to the cinema. We took our seats in the auditorium and one by one people filed in. Eventually, there was an audience of 30 for the film - giving everyone plenty of space.
Top Gun: Maverick was the film and from the first moment it had us hooked. It was 130 minutes of pure adrenaline, punctuated with moments of humour, and moments of pathos. It was brilliant. In fact, it was the first film that we have seen that the Silver Vixen has declared "So good that I could see that again". Well, the Gorse Fox wouldn't disagree.
After the film we stopped for a cheeky Nando's and got home just in time to watch the Germany-v-England Nations League game.
