What a glorious day. The Gorse Fox had to smear suncream on this morning, before going off to football. He would have burnt to a crisp, if he hadn't.
There was a good turnout at football, so we played 8-v-8 in a round robin. Our team was a little unbalanced with a surfeit of defenders, but few recognised strikers. Despite this, we managed to hold the first game to a 1-1 draw. The second game wasn't so even and with the help of three deflections, we lost 3-1. The final game was another disappointing 2-1 loss. It was hot out there, but we kept well-hydrated.
Traffic, on the way home was dreadful. The 35 minute run, took about an hour with all the grockles heading for the cost and blocking the roads (which were already suffering from an outbreak of roadworks).
This afternoon we went round for an oven BBQ with Urban-Cub, Ellie, Cousteau-Cub and the Coventry Hobbit. (An oven BBQ is basically a BBQ cooked in the oven, instead of over a grill).
It was delicious and it was so nice to get together and have a chat. The Coventry Hobbit was trying to fit a filtration system to Ellie's paddling pool, but we concluded that there was a piece missing. He will return to the store in the morning and try to sort it out.
