Overcast

 Today was less spectacular. It was still warm, but fairly overcast throughout the day. Ellie slept well. In fact it was 7:40 before she emerged, the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen already downstairs and marshalling the day. Urban-Cub turned up in time for the walk to pre-school, but then went home for a day of household chores. She has an early shift tomorrow, so whilst Ellie went back to her after school, she will be back here overnight.

The morning was lost to the usual shopping tasks… but then we were afforded the chance to spend some time quietly reviewing possible holiday options. Clearly, people have booked most of the available accommodation for the summer holidays, but we persevered. Our idea is to find somewhere where Ellie can have a holiday. We used HomeAway, Booking.com, Trivago, Expedia, Cottages.com, and Airbnb. We must have viewed several hundred properties in all. Finally, we found a place near Exmouth (so it’s not too far from home) that looks ideal. Let’s see how it works out!
