Mill pond

It’s another fabulous start to the day. England have beaten Germany in a knock-out tournament for the first time sine 1966, there are blue skies, a bit of very high cloud, and the sea is as flat as a mill pond. No definitive plans yet, but we’ll make a decision over breakfast.

(The 1966 World Cup Final was one of those moments that stick in the memory - the Gorse Fox was 14 years old and we had just returned from a week in Eastbourne with our Grandparents. We got home to Cockfosters just in time to see the kick-off and watch the whole game).
