Cousteau-cub gave the Gorse Fox a t-shirt with the emblem "The Codefather" on it. He's been wearing it a lot since the weather perked up. He wasn't, however, wearing it today as he swung into full code mode.
It took a while to get started. He wanted to check a few of the command options and get them working before he bothered embedding them in code. Several hours were wasted trying to work out why one folder would mount in the server, but a seemingly identical folder would not. It turned out to be a "feature" of the way in which the NAS server handles NFS. Eventually, the Gorse Fox found the right tweak to allow the files to be mounted.
The coding could now start. The Gorse Fox has now got an hour or so of code behind him. Hopefully, tomorrow will see it finished - and once finished, all of the backups should drop back into the daily schedule
