It was a hot one; like 7 inches from the midday sun... (with apologies to Santana). The Gorse Fox wandered around to Urban-cub's house to walk with them to Dizzy Ducklings. Then, once home, it was time for the SPF 30, a quick change, and off to football.
The Silver Vixen was meant to have Zoom Pilates but wasn't feeling 100% so having taken her blood pressure (which was ridiculously low), decided to just have a quiet morning.
The Gorse Fox rolled out for the orange bibs today. Looking at the teams, we were a little unbalanced, but it could have been worse. Obviously, the weather was affecting my teammates. There was a terrible case of lethargy permeating the players. The Gorse Fox was not affected. In fact, he had a wonderful game and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom afforded my lazy players and the fact that we had ditched the 3-touch rule. The final score was 2-1 to the yellow bibs, but the Gorse Fox was happy. He had provided an assist for our goal and blocked several certain goals at our own end.
Back home, there was time for a shower, a bite to eat, and 45 minutes rest before collecting Ellie.
It's a very bucolic scenery as we walk through the development towards the school. Paths have been mowed into the wild grass, and the next field has been seeded with wildflowers. It really is a most pleasant walk.
We collected Ellie and allowed her 30 minutes in the playground with her friends. We then wandered home and started to feed her as she said she was hungry - peperami, chicken, cheese, chocolate mousse, jelly, lolly, fish fingers, new potatoes, carrot, and sweetcorn. She demolished most of this over a 90 minute period.
It has turned immensely still. Thunderstorms are forecast for tonight. Let's hope they don't wake Ellie.
P.S. Note to Gareth Bale (who has just won and taken a penalty for Wales against Turkey) - Don't try to be clever - just hit the damned ball as hard as you can, keeping it low. We are building a new spaceport and can use that as a launchpad in the future - and maybe get that ball back, when it stops orbiting.
