Biffa turned up at the crack of 9 o'clock with our new garden waste bin. Later during the morning the Gorse Fox went round all the little hiding places where bags of clippings were stored and emptied them into the bin. It will be nice to get rid of them and make a little space in the back of the garage again. Once the tip is reopened there is plenty more that can be disposed of... but most wouldn't glass as green waste.

The lady from Berkeley Homes knocked. She would be in the office and Urban-Cub could go along and complete the formal paperwork for the reservation of her new home. The Gorse Fox went along with her and kept an ear open for any 'gotchas'. It was a good thing he did as their scanner and copier wasn't working so the Gorse Fox had to step in and make all the copies that were required.

Much of the afternoon has been spent working on the "tawnyowl" rebuild. Though not yet finished, he has (at last) got to grips with a couple of the outstanding issues. It's not quite finished, but he suspects that he is on the home straight. It turns out (as it so often does with UNIX systems) that most of the problems have stemmed from a) permissions, b) changes in the database security, and c) changes in the format of the distribution package which created a superfluous high level directory that was mucking things up. However, that's it for today. He will get back to it tomorrow.
