Stuff

When we asked Ellie what she had been doing at school this week, she has replied, without hesitation, "Just stuff". That, more or less, sums up today.

We were up soon after 07:00 and enjoyed a quiet breakfast as we absorbed the overnight news and social media. Once we had cleared away, Diane returned to her sewing and I pottered about filing some receipts and looking through historic emails and documents in my archive. 

I managed to go out for a walk and was surprised at how warm it was. I would have walked further but bladder pressure hinted that I should cut the route short.

After lunch I finished my current book and started another. Di completed the adjustments that she had been making to a petticoat, and Zoe phoned to say that the Emergency Response Alert that had been sounded at 3pm had scared the bejaysus out of Elli, who had been sitting at the table which had 3 separate mobile phones on it. All was calm again, now that she knew it wasn't an emergency that demanded a response.
