Drip, drip, drip

We were expecting a Landscaper to come and install an irrigation system today. Unsure what time he would arrive, I was up before 7:00 so that I could be suitably caffeinated, washed and dressed, and ready to let them through to the garden and brief them.

As the clock ticked on towards 9:00, the sky became dark and the rain set in for a couple of hours. I could have enjoyed my call with the cousins, but I declined this week's call. The time ticked on. I went up to the study and started filing more documents related to the purchase of this house. This consumed a couple of hours while Di worked on the finishing touches to her sewing project.

I grabbed some lunch, and predictably, that was when the landscaper arrived. He and I briefed his sidekick, and he left him to it.  The skies grew dark again, and I opened up the garage so he could shelter if it proved necessary. It did. We had about 30 minutes of torrential rain. Once it stopped, he got on with the installation and by 16:00, it was done. There are a few more drip tubes to be installed, but they should get that done on Monday. (They had run out of valves.) We have set the timer up to come on in the morning for 20 minutes and in the evening for 20 minutes. Once we have monitored that, we can decide if that's enough or whether we need to tweak it.
