Councillor

I woke early and was downstairs making a coffee by 6:15. I had slept well, but was wide awake and starting to fidget. I didn’t want to disturb Di, so snuck downstairs and read the overnight news. As it got lighter, it became obvious that we were being treated to a nice, bright, dry start to the day. This meant that when I walked Ellie to school, I could enjoy a nice walk before heading home for breakfast.

I had a few admin chores to clear this morning and had to get across to Shripney to top up on cat litter for while we are away, and get some cash for “incidentals” and tips.

Di spent the afternoon with her sewing project, and I finished another book.

Ellie dropped in on her way back from school. She has had an exciting day. She has signed up for the girls’ football on Wednesday after school, she is enrolled in the “Musical Theatre” after-school club on Thursday, she has been signed up for swimming lessons on Saturday mornings, but most importantly, she has been elected as a School Councillor, representing Year 4. She is absolutely delighted, and we are so proud of her. She has to wear her Councillor badge to school for the rest of the school year.

Whatever the problem was at UPS, they have now delivered. The original box had been cannibalised and the address label removed, the content had been repackaged in an “Express” box, and the delivery label attached to the outside. At 10:15, the package arrived, was left by the front door, and the bell was rung. (So much for “This package must be signed for”).

Anyway, despite the delay, it is here and attached to the iPad. It really does seem to be an excellent keyboard, though it is quite heavy compared with my last one.
