I was up early. There was no particular need for this early start; I was just wide awake. It had been wet overnight and was looking miserable for the walk to school. It did, however, stop raining just as I left to go to Zoe's.
With Ellie dropped off at school, I skipped the early walk and went home for breakfast. I had admin to complete! I paid the landscapers and updated the accounts and the household log (which records all "maintenance" activity in the house since we first moved in). I also spent a ridiculous amount of time on a chat discussion with Nationwide regarding the failure of the latest debit card to add to Apple Wallet. At the end of the "chat", the conclusion was that it's broken. (The same as the conclusion when I tried 2 weeks ago.) They promised that it was an Open Issue and they would update me at the end of the day. (That's the sort of promise they made last time and failed to keep.)
Di had gone to the hairdresser, but while she was out, I went for a walk and stopped off in the village to collect her meds from the pharmacy. As usual, before we went away, they failed to read the notes on the prescription request and failed to prescribe one of the tablets. She phoned the surgery (as she usually has to) and they said it would be sorted and ready for collection tomorrow.
I did manage to get the first part of my packing done, but it is pointless packing too early as things will crease. I did, however, print more luggage labels so that we can take extra suitcases if required.
