Today was out of the ordinary. There was no need for the school escort service. Ellie had an approved day off. Zoe and Diane had a surprise planned.
I drove them to the train station and left them to catch the train to London. I then drove to West Park and left the car to go for a nice long walk along the beach. The shingle that had been deposited by the recent storms had been cleared away for the most part, so I was able to go further than last week.
When I got home, I checked on the girls' progress. They arrived in Victoria and then found their way across to Covent Garden where they planned to have lunch. After lunch, they headed for The Lyceum where they had tickets for "The Lion King".
I spent much of the day catching up on some admin and reading.
The performance was due to finish around 17:00. Trevor sent me a message. He and Jane were waiting outside the theatre to say hello as the girls came out. Fortunately, it worked out and they managed to meet for a chat and a photo.
They timed their arrival at Victoria to perfection, getting on the the back of the 18:05 and then walking through the carriages. I met them at the station and heard all about their wonderful day. (Ellie didn't like the Underground trains, but everything else was "good").
