 It seemed very dark when the Gorse Fox got up this morning. Jasper was still asleep somewhere upstairs so there was no hurry to open the door for him. The Silver Vixen was soon up and about. She was meeting up with a friend today, and needed to set off soon after the Gorse Fox.

The Gorse Fox drove across to Worthing for the football. He was selected on a well-balanced team today - though we didn't have a goalkeeper. The first game went well, with a 3-0 win. The second game saw the Gorse Fox take his turn in goal. Unfortunately, one of our team conceded a penalty. Though the Gorse Fox was able to get a hand to it, he couldn't keep it out. We lost 1-0. The final game was expected to be the hardest. The other team had some very good footballers. We defended resolutely and picked up and early goal. It was tense and relentless, but we held on, scoring two more goals and conceding just one. Final score 3-1 to us. Mighty fine morning's work.

The Gorse Fox drove home, stopping yet again for petrol. This must the the third time he has had to fill up his car this year. Once home, all was going swimmingly until he started to strip off fo his shower. He must have twisted awkwardly. Now he can't straighten up properly. Stupid, painful, and very uncomfortable.
