Expensive

 Urban-Cub dropped Ellie off at 7:30 and we sorted her out ready for school. We were lucky. There was an absolute cloud burst at about 8:15, but by 8:40 when we had to head round to the school, the rain had stopped and it has stayed dry and fairly nice throughout the day.

It has been an expensive day.  The decorator finished up, and the Gorse Fox had to settle the balance of the invoice. He also received and invoice from the landscapers, who start on Monday. They are expecting 50% of their fees up front. This was not really a good start to balancing the books for October.

By mid-morning the decorator had cleared everything away and was gone. The results were better than we could have expected. We then spent some time putting back the mirrors, artwork, furniture, and lights. Some of the artwork is still on the floor as the colour palette is wrong for the wall colour. We'll sort the landing out tomorrow.

We picked Ellie up from school. The week has clearly worn her out. She was getting quite fractious for a while and actually asked to go to sleep. It only lasted 5-10 minutes, but it did give her some renewed energy. Urban-Cub has just been along to collect her and take her across to Pistol Pete for the weekend.
