Games everywhere

The Gorse Fox decided that he should leave early for this morning's football. He is pleased that he did. The car park was already full and the overflow was almost full also. He slotted into one of the few remaining spaces. There were loads of kids matches going on across the external pitches, and they had already started with all of the accompanying parents, siblings, and coaches - and their vehicles.

We had 6-v-6 today. He prefers 5-v-5 on these pitches. It was very tight at first. In the first half the Gorse Fox's orange team, having been 4-2 behind, just managed to claw things back to 4-4. In the second half things changed. The Gorse Fox isn't quite sure what the yellow team did, but they seemed to slowly lose the plot. The oranges started to build a lead and in the end the score was about 10-6 to orange. Though the Gorse Fox didn't score any this week, he had a handful of assists and had the chance to go on some lovely maze-like runs with the ball. He did have about 5 shots on target but each was parried by the goalie.

Back home he got the text message from John Lewis that the "pen" for Ellie's "Surface" was ready for collection. He whipped in to Chichester and collected that, then settled down for a quiet afternoon.
