Good heavens we have had some rain in the last 24 hours. The bottom corner of Urban-Cub's garden is under about 5 inches of water - fortunately, the builders are returning today to try and sort out the drainage problem. Our garden too is waterlogged and after trying to make progress for and hour or two this morning, the landscapers had to give up. They hope to return tomorrow, assuming we don't get too much more rain.
Because of the landscapers, the Gorse Fox had decided not to play football today. Now it appears that he won't get to play tomorrow, either.
Much of the day has been spent in the study. The Gorse Fox had a bee in his metaphorical bonnet. There must be an easy way to select teams from a pool of players, without influencing the selection with your own preferences. An algorithm was required and a program to implement the algorithm. It has taken a couple of hours, but now the Gorse Fox can provide a list of players along with a predefined ranking for each. The program will then go through a choose teams, attempting to keep the overall skill index for each team as close as possible. We'll see how it pans out as the Gorse Fox will use it for Sunday team selections.
