Ageing

We were all up and about at 7:00 this morning. Ellie was in a good mood and after breakfast played quietly until it was time for Pistol Pete to collect her.

We left soon after Ellie. We were heading for bandit country, way up north in Milton Keynes. The journey was estimated at 2hours 12 minutes, but though the first 50 miles went smoothly, the M25 conspired to screw up the timings. In the end it it took about 3 hours to get there.

We wandered into the "The Old Beams" pub and after making ourselves comfortable, went and said hello to the family.

There was a good turnout and the buffet spread looked (and indeed was) incredible. We had a lovely four or five hours standing and chatting with the Silver Vixen's nieces, her sister, her brother, and the birthday boy Dom is 60 tomorrow). It was so nice to see them. With the exception of Becky, this was the first time we had seen them since before Covid. Obviously, there was a lot of catching up to do. We wanted to know what they had been up to, they wanted to know about us, the girls, and Ellie.

There were some group photos, copies of which the Gorse Fox awaits, but mostly it was all about the chat.

We made our excuses late afternoon and headed home. The journey back was far better, only taking 2 hours and 20 minutes. Now it's time for a quiet sit down with a glass of wine and some TV.
