Wired for Sound

Urban-Cub arrived early this morning with Ellie. G-Force were on duty for the day and tonight. This meant that the day was really focused on Ellie and anything else was achieved when she was napping.

The Gorse Fox headed into Chichester. We decided that we would add another Sonos to the stable. This allows the new Sonos soundbar (Sonos Beam) to work in conjunction with two further Sonos speakers to provide a rich surround sound for the lounge.

Once home it didn't take long to configure the sound system, but the Gorse Fox couldn't finish placing everything until the new cables arrived from the nice man at Amazon. It was mid afternoon before everything was delivered. Old cables were removed and replaced. These were fixed in place and the soundbar was positioned under the TV. It's all looking very good now and the beauty is that the various cables that drive the system are hidden, or blend in to the background so they are not noticeable.

There's still some tidying up to do. The Gorse Fox wants to repurpose a drawer to hold the Sky-Q control box. That will require some holes being drilled through the back of the unit and the drawer itself. He decided this was best done when Ellie wasn't around. Too many opportunities for splinters otherwise.

After lunch the Gorse Fox took Ellie for a walk round the block. She was very good and held grandpa's hand whenever we had a road to cross. She was intrigued by the ducks and swans on the lake and kept going back for a further look. She is having her evening bath as the Gorse Fox writes this.
