Plans

With Urban-cub out early for work, and Ellie at Pistol Pete's, the Silver Vixen and Gorse Fox had a very relaxed morning. The Gorse Fox hadn't slept well. At 3 a.m. he woke with a "Eureka!" moment regarding the tiles. Unfortunately, once awake his brain started processing the various options and configurations for the rest of the night.

After breakfast, the Gorse Fox retired to the study. The tiling plan from yesterday had to be completed and the new plan drawn up (to see if it would work). The first plan was fairly easy to finish. The new plan was a simple case of creating a standard pattern which could be repeated across the whole patio area. Unfortunately, though it worked, the Silver Vixen wasn't keen on the result. Late in the afternoon, Simon the Landscaper sent through another design. The Gorse Fox rattled it into Sketch-Up and concluded that it would work well - with two assumptions. The 600mm oblong tiles would need 5mm trimmed off their width and the 295mm square tile would need 5mm trimmed off one side. With those changes, everything should work perfectly.

Pistol Pete brought Ellie home late in the afternoon. She was as excited as usual to get home and we had a fairly mad half hour. It was during this half-hour that she had to track down where Poppy the Elf had hidden for the day.

Urban-Cub arrived home soon after six and we all settled down for a quiet dinner and evening.
