This morning was a reminder why the Gorse Fox is so pleased to have reached retirement. Urban-Cub was up early so that she could leave the house just after 6 am. The trouble was that Ellie decided to get up as well. So it was that just after six, the Gorse Fox had to get up to take over from Urban-Cub as she left for work. Ellie soon realised that she hadn't yet found Poppy the Elf. The search commenced. It took her a while, but eventually she found her hiding in the the downstairs bathroom.
The morning was basically dedicated to child care, but did include a walk into the village with the Silver Vixen to collect some new hair products that had been ordered for her.
This afternoon the Gorse Fox has been working (remotely) with Simon the Landscaper to try and solve the conundrum of the tiles. Early CAD attempts proved, fairly convincingly, that the tiles were sized incorrectly. Unfortunately, the supplier wasn't interested. We have to come up with a solution that is both mathematically and aesthetically correct. It took a lot of faffing about but we are now fairly convinced that we have a plan, but it will require a number of tiles to be cut down to the correct size.
Urban-Cub has had another good day at work, but due to the roadworks and a crash on the A27 it took her nearly 90 minutes to get home - instead of the 35-45 minuets you would expect. She has a day-off tomorrow, but then it's back to the coal face on Sunday.
