Meltdown

After a bit of a meltdown yesterday evening, I went to Zoe's to try and calm Ellie down. Whilst I succeeded, it was clear that she needed to come to us for the night to give Zoe some respite. As I walked back with her overnight bag and school things, she ran on ahead, and by the time I got home, she was sitting on her bed with Nana, chatting as if nothing had happened. She went to bed, but not before she had sent a message to Zoe apologising for her behaviour.

At 2:47 this morning, Jasper decided to have a meltdown. (It must be something in the air). He was yowling at the top of his voice and in serious danger of waking `Ellie (he had clearly woken Diane and me). I went downstairs and opened his "breakfast". He put his head down and dived in. I was pleased that I managed to go back to sleep quite quickly.

We were around 7, and Ellie was up soon after. She got herself washed and dressed, and ready for school and then sat down with me to practise her spellings. We wandered off to school and dropped her at the classroom, then Diane headed home while I took my morning walk.

Diane had a call with her friend Marilyn in the morning. I spent the time catching up on some admin. The most significant item was the installation of an eSIM in our phones to provide us with Internet access while we are away on our cruise. It is switched off at present, but I will activate it once we leave Southampton.

We spent an hour in the Orangery after lunch. I finished my latest book and started a new one. We then went to collect Ellie from school and take her home to Zoe. Zoe has an early start tomorrow, so Ellie will be back with us overnight.
