Editing

It has been a beautiful day. No cloud has dared to sully the edge-to-edge blue of the winter sky. Having said that, it has been quite cool. The Gorse Fox escorted Ellie to school, along with Urban-Cub, then headed home for some breakfast.

The first order of the morning was to check and update the accounts. Then the Gorse Fox returned to his editing exercise. Bit by bit he is working through a couple of years of blog posts and formatting them for printing. On each pass, and there have been several, he finds a few more tweaks to apply. One decision that he made was to replace the nom-de-net nicknames with real names. No more anonymity in the printed version. Having said that, there is no reason for the printed version to ever leave the house. In years to come, however, the family will not know to whom these nicknames applied.

While this was going on, the Silver Vixen was busy with her patterns in the sewing room. An email arrived, ostensibly from UPS. She replied and provided the information requested. It was only a bit later she suddenly had doubts. The Gorse Fox checked, and sure enough, the addresses didn't resolve to UPS. It was a sophisticated phishing scam. We immediately froze her bank card. A long chat with the bank cancelled the card and a new one will be sent out. It is so easy to get caught out. It is good that the Gorse Fox has been drumming in a healthy dose of paranoia and that she got suspicious.

Ellie is with us tonight.
