The Gorse Fox woke earlier than planned. He went downstairs and spent the first 10 minutes cleaning up Jasper's overnight additions to the litter tray. When the mess was finally under control, it was time for the first (in fact, only) coffee of the day. (The Gorse Fox limits himself to a single coffee before football). He settled down and worked through his emails, some social media, and the news aggregators until the Silver Vixen came down.
We had a full house for football, 5-v-5, which is perfect. The initial team selection, on consideration, needed tweaking. One player was swapped between the teams and we got going. By halftime, the Gorse Fox's orange team were 3-1 ahead. He had not played well. Passes had been under hit, shots had been scuffed, and interceptions missed. In the second half, he started to click. The passes were more assertive and he threaded some nice balls through the attack. Goals were scored tit-for-tat. The Gorse Fox managed to tuck three goals in the net, and we finished off victors by one goal.
The Silver Vixen was finishing some ironing (predominantly Ellie's) and then managed to get started on a new project. The Gorse Fox read several chapters of his book, sitting in the Orangery, enjoying the warm sun. He switched off the Kindle and returned to his study. There was another blog extract to edit and format. He tried some different themes from yesterday. One looked very smart and much better than the original. So much so, in fact, that he went back and reformatted yesterday's extract for 2021. Once that was done, he made a start on 2022's extract. He has only got as far as May but will return to it during the week.
