Elizabeth the Great

Today was a sombre day. After the death of our Sovereign, Elizabeth II we, as a Country, would finally be laying her to rest. It was public holiday so that people could pay their respects.

It was noticeable that, as the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen watched the proceedings on the TV, no cars passed by the house, nobody walked by, and at the back of the house there was absolute silence. Our neighbourhood was clearly paying respects to the passing of our Queen.

We spent the whole day glued to the proceedings on the TV. It was a spectacle like no other in our lifetime. With Heads of State and Dignitaries from all over the World it was clear that Her Majesty, though our Queen, was respected and loved across the planet. She was not Our Queen, she was THE Queen, or as Boris Johnson said, she was "Elizabeth the Great".
