It has been another day where the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen could actually concentrate on their hobbies. The Silver Vixen has been buried under a mountain of patterns, fabrics, and sewing machines. The Gorse Fox has been flipping between the iMac (Condor) and the new Windows laptop (Merlin).
Work on the Empson book is making very good progress. The actual book compilation is done on Merlin, but the editing and manipulation of the media is done on Condor. The exercise, started yesterday, of categorising all of the media items has made all the difference. The Gorse Fox was able, at a stroke, to suppress items that added no value to the document (like pages of index entries from the General Register Office), and size items that required more space to read easily (such as Census entries). It took most of the day, but it is done. Most of the effort went into creating captions for the hundreds of media items included in the book.
While he was at it, he realised that, at some point, he had erased the notes that he had written regarding his own "story". This was rectified and he is now properly represented in the various documents.... though not the Empson Book (as he is the Gorse Fox, not an Empson).
