The Gorse Fox is happy to report that Jasper left him alone this morning and he woke in his own sweet time. It was a very frosty morning and the Gorse Fox was pleased with the heated front and rear windows, set, and steering wheel in the car as he headed off to football.
We had a challenging 5-v-5 today. Challenging in as mush as the difficulty we had to split into balanced teams. In the end we decided that there would be a switch at half time. Like last week, this meant that the Gorse Fox's yellow team raced into a 9-3 lead - with one goal from him. After a switch of personnel in the break, it became a bit like the Alamo. Bit by bit the orange team pulled back the deficit. We did manage to score 2 more goals... the second being a shot from the Gorse Fox which cannoned off the post and hit the goalie as he turned and nestled into the back of the net. In the end we won 11-9.
Once home, the Gorse Fox found the Silver Vixen on the phone to her cousin. He has to go into hospital for a significant operation at the beginning of March, and she wanted to have a long, supportive chat with him.
The Skoda was filthy. During the week we twice tried to take it to the car wash but found it closed. The Gorse Fox decided to give it another go. It was open. It was open and people were queuing back up the road to use it. The Gorse Fox drove home and decided that he would wash it himself. It looks lovely and sparkly now, but his hands were freezing by the time he finished.
