Stars

We woke up with the Silver Vixen's alarm, closely followed by Ellie launching herself into bed with us. We went through the usual morning ritual and deposited Ellie at the school gates.

Once home, the Gorse Fox changed into his football gear and headed off to Worthing. It was a glorious morning. Crystal clear sky and temperatures around 6C. Perfect. The sides were chosen and we had a solid 8-a-side. Not ideal, but better than yesterday. It was very close. We defended well, but our attack was a bit weak. Having said that, we went in all square at 1-1 for half-time. In the second half we maintained our defence but managed to claw a couple more goals of our own. So that was it, a win, 3-1.

Back home, the Gorse Fox couldn't find the Silver Vixen. She wasn't downstairs, wasn't pottering in Ellie's room, and wasn't in her study. He found her in bed. She was feeling unwell and was a bit light-headed. He brought tea at regular intervals, a lateral flow test (that proved negative), and stood by awaiting any requests. It was dinner time before she emerged for a bowl of porridge.

The Gorse Fox went along to collect Ellie from school. Urban-Cub managed to catch up with him just as he approached the gates. Ellie is back home with Urban-Cub overnight. She had been given a project to do on the stars. Yesterday she painted a night sky... and today she stuck stars and moon onto it along with the words to "Twinkle, twinkle little star". It looks very good. Hopefully, the teachers will be impressed when it is handed in tomorrow.
