Normality

It was very misty when we got up this morning, but it cleared by late morning only to be replaced by some spots of rain, then drizzle, and finally proper rain.

Today saw a degree of normality return. After the initial coffee  the Gorse Fox wandered round to Urban-Cub to provide escort duties for the trip to school. As soon as he got back home, he did a quick change into his football gear and headed off to Worthing.

There had been a tournament yesterday. This meant that there weren't as many players as usual and we had to make do with 9-a-side. The Gorse Fox hates this. We played a game split into three 20 minute periods. The Gorse Fox tried to marshal the defence against formidable attacking team. We did pretty well and in the circumstances a 5-4 loss was a great success for the defence. The Gorse Fox made some significant interceptions and clearances and we would have probably edged the game had our goalie not rolled the ball out to opposition on several occasions and one of the other defenders thought it clever to break the golden rule and pass the ball across the goal - but under hit it, allowing it to go straight to one of the attackers.

The afternoon was taken up with the online shopping for the week, a little downtime, and then preparation of Thai red chicken curry.

Urban-Cub has just dropped Ellie off. She is staying with us overnight as Urban-Cub has a very early start.
