Just Looking

The day started very early. Ellie was awake soon after three... but fortunately she amused herself in her bedroom until the Gorse Fox got up at seven. She then charged down the stairs with him and demanded fruit juice, cartons, and toast with ham. The Gorse Fox obliged, then staled down with his coffee.

Ocado turned up with the weekly shopping at their allotted time, then the Gorse Fox played with Ellie until Urban-Cub and the Silver Vixen had showered and dressed. Next on the agenda was a car. With Urban-Cub's change of circumstances and expensive PCP car is not a sensible outlay every month. The question was what should be the replacement. Urban-Cub had seen a couple of BMW 1-Series that interested her. One was nearby in Chichester. We took Ellie with us and went and had a look. Would the child seat fit? Would the buggy fit? Yes. As it happens, they did. She took the car out for a test drive and liked it.

Leaving the garage we then went on to look at some further dealerships, but nothing caught her eye at the price point she had set. The Gorse Fox supposes that with a BMW, at least the indicators have probably never been used. Back home she checked the status of her PCP and found that she was far enough into the contract that she had no penalties for relinquishing the car. That was good news. She's going to look at another car tomorrow. So let's see how it goes.

The Gorse Fox also had time to go along and have a complete overhaul at the barber's.  For once, all the seats were in use and there was someone queued before him. He watched as the others we sorted, then it was his time. He had the full works (with the exception of the nose-wax), and then wandered off into the afternoon sun.

Tom Kerridge recently featured a short-rib of beef on his BBQ Series. This was dry rubbed and left for 24 hours before being slow cooked for about 4-5 hours. The Gorse Fox got the short ribs in this morning's delivery. He has now reviewed the video and noted all the ingredients for his dry rub and his sauce. Tomorrow will require a trip to shops, and then he will start on preparing these short ribs for Sunday.
