After some early morning chores - vacuuming, then steam cleaning the floors, the Gorse Fox returned to study. The first task was to consolidated the naming convention that he has evolved for all of the videos. This meant going back and renaming quite a few of the oldest ones and then reseeding the Plex Media Server. Once done, he powered through several more videos. One, from 1999, was taken in Tenerife when the Gorse Fox first bought his digital video camera. Being a new toy, this featured dozens and dozens of clips of various lengths. Each had to be reviewed and either rejected or the best best selected for inclusion. It took ages. The finished article, however, is pretty good.
On a related note, the Gorse Fox has just found out that you can trim video using the Mac's built-in Quicktime Player. This is useful for some of the old videos that were transferred to DVD and, in some cases, had huge amounts of dead air at the end. It's much quicker using this method that using one of the video editors.
Urban-Cub is back in LA this afternoon sorting out the various who-takes-what decisions for the house before bringing Ellie back. The Gorse Fox suspects it is quite stressful, but it has to be done.
