Serendipity and Contact

It has been another day where we have just pottered around. Nothing was planned and consequently everything went exactly to plan.

It started off with a quick delve into the accounts. The Gorse Fox has been a little lax since Christmas, so it was time to do a catch up. That cleared, he returned to the photo selection for the next photo book. This started off with various attempts to produce contact sheets for each year so that the Silver Vixen could check them. This, in turn, drove him to his private blog and diaries to check dates. Some photos cannot be easily placed without a little additional context. It was while doing this that he realised that he, apparently, has no coverage of 1984 (or did Big Brother steal it?).

There must be some record of 1984. We had a 1983 and 86, so the 84 must have been there. Indeed, that was the year that he started at Starfleet. Nope, no online digital records. He went searching. Was there a diary he had missed? Well, if he did it's because the diary is missing. One last thought was whether there had been a backup (years later) that covered the diary he had kept online when first at Starfleet.

Cupboards were emptied. Boxes were opened. CDs and DVDs were examined, and in many cases loaded onto the computer for checking. Nope. The Gorse Fox can only conclude that 1984 is lost in the fabric of time. Serendipitously he did manage to find some old Starfleet backups that document his time in various jobs, and what he did for various clients. He thought that this had been lost in the midst of a house move, but was delighted to find it and it is now restored to his hard drive so that he can examine it at leisure.

If anyone out there remembers 1984, and particularly what the hell the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen were doing that year, please let him know.
