Islands

Rain has continued on and off through the night though it has been pretty dry during the day. It’s just as well really. This area has turned into an island perched within a huge lake. Aldingbourne Rife has burst its banks and the waters have spread across the flood plain. One consequence of this is that the large Tescos car park is under water and though the store is open, nobody can get there to shop. The result is that they all headed for Sainsbury’s. The Gorse Fox went along there at midday, but seeing the queue to get into the car park, turned back and headed home. It was chaos.

The Silver Vixen was wrapping presents and the Gorse Fox chipped in to help. Needless to say, the pile for Ellie was a s big as all other presents put together. Many now nestle under the tree, whilst others are ready for us to take with us to Urban-Cub’s on Xmas day.

At about two-thirty the Gorse Fox took his chance and returned to Sainsbury’s. He made his way to the farthest point of the car park from the store and parked easily. In the store, as busy as it was, he managed to find everything on his list and then forced his way past the queues for the checkouts to the scan & pay checkouts. One was free and within an minute or two he had settled up and was heading for the car.

Other than collecting the pre-ordered food from Sainsbury’s and from M&S tomorrow, that’s all the shopping done now.
