Well that's a day of surprises. Jose Mourinho sacked by Man Utd. Methinks it was a long time coming. Maybe he'll come and manage our walking football team? As if we'd actually want him!
Talking of football, the Gorse Fox headed across to Worthing for today's game. We were hoping to get it in before the forecast rain hit. We more or less got away with it... a few sprinkles while we were playing but nothing too bad. The Gorse Fox was picked for the orange team today. It seemed like an excellent group. So much so that the organiser did think about changing the personnel. In the end we played as picked.
There was some lovely passing and interceptions, but we had nobody who could actually finish. So it was that we drew the first game 0-0. Then next game, again, featured some lovely football but no end result for us... in fact we lost 2-0. In our last game, we again lost 1-0. It just goes to show that a good defence or midfield needs some strikers... and vice versa. Our team, as good as it was, lacked balance.
The Silver Vixen has spent the afternoon in her sewing room. She's making some lovely new cushion covers for the living room. The first one is complete and now she's moving on to next. The Gorse Fox spent part of the afternoon watching a Sky Arts documentary on The Doors' "L.A. Woman" - one of his all time favourite albums. Thoroughly enjoyable.
